B&W PORTRAITURE: Environmental and Studio with Jean Schnell
Wednesday nights, May 11 - June 15,
5-7pm at the Cleveland Print Room
Across 6 weeks, adult learners will explore the central and subtle nuances of black and white environmental and studio portrait photography. Students will learn studio lighting techniques and how to best use available light. They will also learn the importance of context, facilitating thoughtful relationships between subject and environment to reveal what is not always visible about people or places to the surface.
Students will need a 35mm film camera, with a manual lens to control apertures.
Additionally, there will be darkroom instruction/refreshers for students that focus on black & white film processing and darkroom printing of your images.
Material Requirements:
35mm film camera, with manual lens to control apertures
One 25-sheet pack of 8x10 Ilford Photo Paper
Two rolls of Ilford HP5 Film
