It’s time to roll out the barrel and the red carpet as the Polka Hall of Fame presents the 53nd annual Thanksgiving Polka Party Weekend, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 24, 25 and 26, 2016. Thrill to polka music’s grandest festival as the Downtown Cleveland Marriott Hotel becomes America’s polka hub with the Cleveland Style’s finest entertainers. The curtain rises on the 2016 Awards Show, polka music’s red-carpet event in the Grand Ballroom on Saturday, November 26, at 2:00 p.m.

This year, the Polka Hall of Fame celebrates the Art of the Accordion in all its forms – button box, chromatic, concertina and piano accordion – at the Awards Show gala. Tom Mroczka leads the polka all-star stage orchestra. Twenty Cleveland-Style and Slovenian-Style orchestras and entertainers are scheduled throughout the weekend to entertain you in three hotel locations. The Friday evening button box jam brings together as many as fifty accordions on the main stage. Polka personality Tony Petkovsek, who started the festival in 1963, will give the downbeat. Minnesota’s Father Frank Perkovich arrives with his popular Polka Mass and 2015 Button-Boxer Kathy Hlad right after the Awards Show.

The line-up includes the Frank Stanger Orchestra (Band of the Year)and Patty C and the Guys (Button Box Band of the Year), plus David Austin, Klancnik & Friends, Eddie Rodick, Karl Lukitsch, the Button Box Divas, TV’s Chardon Polka Band, Canada’s Polka Maestre, Wayne Tomsic, Aaron Dussing, Linda Lee Brown, Anthony Culkar, Fred Ziwich and the Fairport Jammers. Hank Thunander, from Superior, Wisconsin, makes his comeback in the Superior Room. Canada’s Polka King Walter Ostanek and Nashville’s Joey Miskulin also join the fun.

Free indoor attached parking. The Marriott offers a special deal for each deluxe room, including health club, pool and sauna. Jack Casino is just across the newly-redesigned Public Square with shopping and restaurants nearby on East 4th and West 6th Streets.
