Event Details

Head down to Ohio City and expand your beer knowledge at Hop College: Style Analysis. This month’s focus? GLBC's malt-forward beers! Join Certified Cicerone® Great Lakes Brewing Co. staff as we crack open the history and sensory characteristics of our bready, toasty, chocolatey concoctions, and taste these beers that highlight the flavors of "the soul of beer".

Students who enroll in Hop College: Style Analysis will head to the “classroom” where Certified Cicerone®️ Great Lakes Brewing Co. staff will help you tap into a deeper understanding of our malty year round and seasonal favorites through a guided tasting, complete with sensory analysis, a rundown of the history of the style, the stories behind GLBC's versions, and more during this crash course on all things barley! There won’t be any textbooks, but we will have plenty of beer to help enhance your learning. We will be tasting:

Blackout Stout Imperial Stout
Oktoberfest
Nosferatu Imperial Red IPA
Edmund Fitzgerald Porter
Each Class Admission ticket will include one 7 oz. pour of each beer, so have those taste buds ready! Students who enroll will receive a special Hop College pokal glass, pictured below. Add-on tickets are also available for an exclusive Hop College notebook and GLBC pen, pictured below the pokal glass.

Graduate at the bottom of your glass at Hop College, where our taproom is your classroom!
